V. will be held at the reunion grounds, a mile east of Fairfield. Many prominent men of the State will speak. On July 14 all the candidates for Governor have been invited to speak in interest of their candidacy. The grade of the staple has been lowered considerably. Farmers report over three-fourths of the cotton is picked and the yield at least one-third short of normal. Buyers are paying 20 cents for cotton and $26 per ton for seed. The staple is of very good grade and is selling at 23 1/4 to 24 cents. Seed is selling at $24 per ton.
