Mr. Darrell R. Hightower, 76, died February 15, 1996 in Tyler.

He was born Jan 28, 1920 in Mertens, Texas, the son of Ruben R. and Alice
Brinkley Hightower.  Mr. Hightower was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the
Philippines in WWII, a former resident of Ennis. He was a retired painting
contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of Cedar Creek; two sisters, Ann Benton Thomas
of Coppell and Lenna Fay Baucom of Tool; one son Michael Hightower of Bedford;
his mother, Alice Brinkley of Ennis; numerous grandchildren and great
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reuben R. Hightower,; first wife, Beulah
Hightower; two brothers, Henry Clay Hightower and Delma R. Hightower.

Funeral services will be Saturday,Feb 17, 1996 2pm at Providence Baptist Church
with Rev. John West officiating under the direction of Corley Funeral Home.
Interment will take place at the Tool Cemetery.

Friends desiring to do so, may make memorial contributions to the Providence
Baptist Church, Tool, Texas.

Additional Comments:
Darrell was the grandson of Rollie Benjamin and Thula Viola Thompson Hightower;
the g-grandson of Raleigh (Rollie) and Aletha Jane Thompson Hightower.
