Manes of 615 Carroll will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Women’s Club Building on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Maneses are natives of Collin County and were married there on Oct. 5, 1922. The couple have six children, 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Manes retired as a clerk from a fishing barge and Mrs. Manes was a Licensed Vocational Nurse at the Denton State School for 14 years and was also employed at Flow Memorial Hospital. The couple’s children, Mrs. H. H. Galyon of Garland, Kenneth Manes of Houston, Charles Manes of Port Arthur, Mrs. Don Harper of Arizona, Harold L. Manes of Pennsylvania and Jack Manes of Arlington, will host the reception.
