Milton Collins, 62, native of Coleman and city secretary and tax assessor for Coleman from 1927 until he retired in January of 1958 will be held from Stevens Memorial Chapel at Coleman. Rev. Richard McDuffey, Coleman rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church will officiate at the funeral. Interment in the Coleman cemetery. Mr. Collins died Sunday at Overall Memorial Hospital in Coleman. He was born 7 October 1887 in Coleman, and attended the local schools. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, was veteran of World War 1 and was an Episcopalian. Survived by his widow; 4 sisters - Mrs. Nannie Love of Coleman, Mrs. Nell Clary of Abilene, Mrs. H.M. Pittman of Coleman, Miss Mary Sue Collins of Coleman; 1 brother - Harry Collins of Coleman; niece - Mrs. Arthur Newton of Abilene. The Abilene Reporter Newws Tuesday, December 6, 1960 Milton Collins Rites at Coleman COLEMAN - Funeral for Milton Collins, 73, former longtime city secretary and tax assessor, was held in Stevens Memorial Chapel in Coleman. Officiating was to be Rev. Richard McDuffy, vicar of St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Coleman. Burial was in Coleman City Cemetery. Mr. Collins died Sunday in Overton Memorial Hospital here after a two months illness. He was a former membre of the hospital board of directors, a member of the Bishop's Committee of the Episcopal Churhc and of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Collins was in the service during World War 1. From 1927 to 1958 he served as city secretary and tax assessor in Coleman. Survivors: his wife; 4 sisters - Mrs. Nannie Love of Coleman, Mrs. Nell Clary of Abilene, Miss Mary Sue Collins of Coleman, Mrs. H.M. Pitman of Coleman; 1 brother - Harry of Coleman; 1 niece - Mrs. Arthur Newton of Abilene.
