(IOOF) = was member of Independent Order of the Odd Fellow (WOW) = was member of Woodsman of the World, Woodsman Circle, or other Woodsman organization. (MASONIC) = was member of Masonic Lodge (OES) = was member of Order of the Eastern Star (REBEKAH) = was member of Daughters of Rebekah (SAW) = Spanish American War (WW) = World War (UCV) = United Confederate Veterans (DAR) = Daughters of the American Revolution (PHOTO) = photograph on stone (CSA) = Confederate States of America (FCB) = Knights of Pythias (PS) = Pythian Sisters (KOTM) = Knights of the Maccabees ALFH = American Legion flag holder The cemetery is rectangular, with an extension on the southeast part. The main rectangular part is divided by roads running from the north gate to the east gate (running south, then east); one dividing the cemetery into north and south parts, but running only about three quarters of the way to the east fence; and a third road running north and south about a quarter of the way from the east side. In compiling this information, we have used these fords to divide the cemetery into sections. Section A is the northwest part; Section B is the southwest part; Section C is the extension to the southest; Section D is the south central part (north of Section C); Section E is the east side (north of Section C); and Section F is the north central part (north of Section D). We have read the rows in a snake like fashion, ending at one row and beginning at the same end of the next row. some family lots may have been separated by this method of reading. One gate is on FM 1026 and on the North side of the cemetery; William Gould Busk designated land just west of the Baptist Church lot to be a cemetery. It consisted of 1.5 acres. The first burial was Feb. 20 1907 when 4 year old Sarah Lillian Cozart passed away. In 1908, it was fenced with barbed wire. In 1926, J. W. Cox donated another plot of land to enlarge the size. In 1947, Mrs. J. W. Cox donated additional 2.5 acres. In 1968, a new cemetery association was organized with Lee Williams as president, Jim Bob Thweatt as vice-president, Mrs. Jim Bob (Bobbye) Thweatt as secretary-treasurer. Lee and Mozelle Williams were put in charge of maintenance. A new fence and gates where completed in 1969. Since the death of Lee Williams in 1977, Mozelle Williams has been in charge of the cemetery. Since 1971, the Senior Class of Mozelle High School had kept the cemetery clean and will kept as a senior class fundraising project. In 1978, the ashes of Steve Leflar, a one time resident and Naval Air Service career man, were flown over the cemetery and scattered as he had directed.
