Obituary: Josephine Webb, May 1956 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines May 2011 *********************************************************************** The Bronte Enterprise, Coke County, TX - May 25, 1956 WEBB Last Rites Held Here Wednesday for Mrs. Josephine Webb Funeral services were held here Wednesday at 10 a.m. for Mrs. C. H. Webb, 77. The last rites were conducted at the First Methodist Church, with the Rev. R. W. Blackmon, pastor of the Kickapoo Baptist Church, in charge. He was assisted by the Rev. Douglas Brown, First Baptist Church, Pastor. Mrs. Webb was found dead at her home Monday afternoon by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Clayburn Webb. Death was attributed to natural causes. Mrs. Webb was born June 18, 1878, in Tennessee. She was married to Columbus Houston Webb in 1899 in Bell County. The couple moved to Concho County in 1916 and on to Coke County in 1935. Survivors include three sons, Otha Webb of Houston, Clayburn and Lester Webb, both of Bronte; five daughters, Mrs. Birdie Richardson of Amarillo; Mrs. Juanita Parker and Mrs. Furn Roberts, both of Robert Lee, Mrs. Annie Rosser of Abilene and Mrs. Lovella Burlew of California; three brothers, John Cunningham and Mell Cunningham, both of San Angelo, and Marion Cunningham of Turkey, Tex.; 28 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews of Mrs. Webb.
