The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.org/ Submitted by Mary Love Berryman - marylove@tyler.net 3 Nov 2000 ***************************************************************** The Observer/Enterprise, 27 Oct 2000 BRONTE 1950 GOLDEN JUBILEE HELD SEPT. 23, 2000 Saturday, September 23, 2000, consumated the Golden Jubilee celebration for the reunion of the graduation class of 1950 from Bronte High School. The reunion was held in the Community Room of the Housing Authority in Bronte. Each table was decorated with maroon & white balloons. A Mexican side bar with all the trimmings was catered by Ms. Betty Sedden of Bronte for all the group. The Jubilee started with individual name tag pictures and school accomplishments laminated and pinned on each class member as copied from annuals of 1948-1949-1950. This was truly one of the celebrations of the millennium. Class members brought annuals and memorabilia covering events from youth until the day of graduation. Pictures through all the years of class reunions kept bringing up comments of those who have survived the last 50 years. The class was pleased Mrs. Marie Arrott a room mother for the class from the beginning was present, also Mr. & Mrs. J. T. Henry, former teachers. Other guests were Edna Earl Box and Mary Davis Robbins of San Angelo, Julie Snead Morrow of Miles and Ginger Snead Lindsey of Fredricksburg. A moment of meditation and prayer was given by Noah Pruitt Jr. for former class members: Carol Sue Dismore, Norma Gentry, Royce Glenn Phillips, Roy Wilkins and Jack Vaughn. Earl Rusk was not able to attend due to recovery of recent extensive surgery. Receiving the gift for traveling the most distance was Charles Ray Brown of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Jeff Randall McCutchen won the prize in the chipping contest for a "hole in one." Everyone enjoyed the reunion and agreed the next class reunion will be in conjunction with the Big BHS Homecoming in 2 years. Class members and their spouses present were: Marlene Arrott Vaughn, Dorothy Scott Pruitt & Noah, Jr., Charles Timmons & Margarette, William Thomas & Martha, Pauline Beaver Blair & Carl all of Bronte; Joe Russell Ash & Donna of Robert Lee; Pauline Box Dyer, Kenneth Hester & Nita of San Angelo, Charles Ray Brown & Lola of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Bobby & Billie Jean Millikin Clark of Abilene; Jeff Randall McCutcheon & Eva of Mertzon; Ben Snead of Bastrop; Rayma Bagwell Rogers & Bill of Ft.
