Carrol and B. Boyett are bound to the State of Tennessee in the penalty (?) Of one thousand dollars witness our hands and seals this 5 day of Sept. 1859. The condition of this obligation is such that whereas the above bound Charles Carrol has been appointed guardian of William B. and Peter H. Carrol his minor children. Now if the said Charles Carrol shall [ ] perform and discharge all the duties which are or may be required of him by law as such guardian. Boyett 9/5/1859, TN State Library, Microfilm Additional Comments: Charles Carrol's wife, Fanny Mobley, died between 1850 and 1859 and I think Charles Carrol was named guardian of his own children, to receive income from Fanny's parents who lived in Sampson County, NC.
