Truman came to Charles Mix county in 1877 or 1878 and worked in the wood business on Pease "island" and elsewhere on both sides of the river. He occasionally worked as a carpenter and in recent years has been farming. He has lived in the south part of old Charles Mix county ever since his arrival except a few years residing on the opposite bank of the Missouri, now residing on the Geo. L. Kirk farm on Spring creek.
