Access to the newer, upper cemetery is a continuation of the road into the Centerville Church. Another access is from Route 233. GPS location 40 06.698 77 20.04 This cemetery is laid out with a monument in the center and most stones facing that in concentric rings with several spokes radiating out from that center. The cemetery was founded 15 May 1897 by R.R. Longsdorf, J.L.Williams, H.H.Weakley, S.T.Long, J.Beetem, J.H.Himes, L.G.Hosfeld, L.H.Shenk, C.A.Snoke as mentioned on a stone in the northwest or lower corner closest to the church.. I have added a directional mention after the name to give the section where each stone is located. [Info in brackets is additional genealogical info; references are at the end.] I recorded this in May 2003, additions after that are from the Obits of the Carlisle Sentinel. Lindas Piekut and I walked it again on June 18, 2009, made the additions and changed the location designations of some stones. We decided that the west section would be bound by the entry road from the church and the dirt road headed southwest. The south section goes from that dirt road around to the path with the big evergreen tree. The east section goes from the tree path to the road in from Rt 233.
