  Karl R. Penn, a resident of Port Orchard, Washington, has enlisted in the 
United States Army's Delayed Entry Program (DEP) which allows an individual
to join the Army, secure his or her guarantee, and delay their actual departure 
dates for up to 365 days.
    He attended Elma High School in Elma, Washington and is the son of 
Rhonda L. Hoffman of Elma and Charles Jenson of The Dalles.
