E.P.Coleman,a well known pioneer of this county, died at his home in Coburg,Saturday night,from heart failure,aged 62 years. While he had been in poor health for some time, his sudden eath was entirely unexpected. He was bonr in Pennsylvania in 1842 and came with his parents across the plains to Oregon in 1853. Upon arrival here the family settled on a farm 15 miles southwest of eugene. Enoch remained on the farm until 18 years of age,when he started out for himself,following a varitey of pursuits for a number of years,finally settling in the stock business on a farm near Harrisburg. he later purchased a fine farm near Coburg, where he raised cattle extensively,retiring only a few years ago and allowing his son in law to run the place. Mr.Coleman has been for many years a prominent Democratic politcian and served in the State Senate from 1882 to 1886 and later served one term in the Lower House. he was married in 1864 to Miss Mary Walton,who, with two sons and one daughter,survives him.
