All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com April 5, 2008, 1:37 pm Morning Oregonian October 30,1904 A very pretty wedding was solemnizd at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wirkkala,at 518 Exchange street, in Astoria, last week,when Mr. John H.Malar and Miss Soophie W.Lantto were united in marriage by the Rev.R.Brown in th epresence of a large circle of friends and relatives.To the strains of the wedding march from "Lohengrin" the bridal aprty entered the parlors,and the bride looked very pretty in a gwn of cream silk volle over taffeta,carrying an arm bouquet of white chrysnathemums. The bridesamid was mIss Christine Malar,sister of the groom,and she was dressed in white organdie over yellow and carried yellow chrysanthemums. George Malar was best man.Miss Laura Seafelt,Mr.A.Snow and Miss A.Peterson,reeived the guests. The house was beautifull decorated with garlands of ivy and Autumn leaves. After the ceremony an elegant supper was served in the dining room,which was decorated with ferns,chrysthanthemums,sweet peas,and carnations. After receiving congratulatiosn and best wishes from their many friends, they left on a short wedding trip to Seattle.On their return they will make their home in Astoria.
