Archives. http://www.usgwarchives.org/ok/rogers/rogers.htm *********************************************************************** Chelsea Services For Chester Cherrington Funeral services for Chester Abraham Cherrington were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Chelsea. He was born August 3, 1892 and departed from this life September 16, 1984 at the age of 92. Chester was born in Humansville, MO., the son of Otis and Katie Cherrington. He and the former Clara Draeger were married June 20, 1917 at Vinita where they established there first home. In 1925, he went to work for Tidal Oil Company working in the Waller and Cherokee Central area. In 1933 he was transferred to Drumright and and later to Longview, Texas. He retired in 1955 at which time he and Mrs. Cherrington returned to Chelsea, to make there home. He is a member of the First Baptist Church, where he was active in its work as long as his health permitted. One son, Chester A. Cherrington, Jr., was killed in England during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Clara; two sisters, Ione Dunham of Claremore and Nadine Giles of Lewiston, Idaho. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and friends. Note: Info i recieved said there son Chester Jr, was a B-24 Pilot, during WW II. He was killed in England 1944. ***********************************************************************
