Richard Atzbach officiating. Burial follows at McGee Cemetery. Mrs. Embry died May 14, 2003, at Shawnee. She was born March 12, 1915, at Maxwell to James Levi and Hattie Journey Brecheen. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the Ada area. She and Webb Embry were married Feb. 28, 1931, in Pontotoc County. He preceded her in death Nov. 4, 1990. Mrs. Embry was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include three sons, Jerry Gene Embry and wife, Jevita, Howard, Colo., John C. He was born August 26, 1927, at Shawnee, Okla. He graduated from Ada High School and joined the U.S. Navy during World War II. He later graduated from East Central State College. After graduation, he worked with General Motors Acceptance Corp. for 30 years. He married Lady Louise Armstrong Dec. 28, 1947, at Ada. He was a graduate of Sherman High School and attended Austin Junior College in Sherman and Dornes Business College in Dallas, Texas. He and Mary K. Chumbley were married Oct. 26, 1940. Mr. Clark was an aircraft engineer and was employed at LTV (Ling Tempco) Aircraft Corporation. He retired in 1984 and relocated to Davis. He was the owner and operator of Clarks Conoco Travel Shop west of Davis. Mr. Clark was of the Baptist faith and was a 32nd Degree Mason. She was born March 27, 1922, at Stonewall to John Henry and Clara Bell Whitehead Anderson. She was a lifelong resident of the Stonewall area and attended Stonewall schools. She and Brian Thomas "Tom" Crow were married in 1947 at Ada. He died in 1986 at Stonewall. Mrs. Crow was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include a daughter, Sally Baum, Ada; two sons, Harvey Phillips and wife, Cecilia, Union Valley, and Henry Crow and wife, Gerry, Pauls Valley; a brother, Marion Anderson, Strathmore, Calif.; a sister, Juanita Sliger, Ada; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. At an early age, he was adopted by Melvin Earl and Elizabeth Sharp Purdy. He was raised in Tipton and graduated from Tipton High School. He moved to Ada in 1952. He and Colleen Parks were married July 5, 1944, at Oklahoma City. She died Feb. 12, 1998, at Ada. Mr. Purdy was employed by the Ada Evening News in advertising for 25 years. He was later self-employed and was an interior decorator. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church where he and his wife taught Sunday school class for more than 20 years. He was a member of the church administrative board, the worship committee and the Golden Agers. He used his artistic ability to create a full church year calendar with banners to represent the seasons of the church. Mr. Purdy also served in the U.S. Navy, enlisting in 1941 and serving during the World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by a sister, LaRue Sharp.
