He was born October 21, 1931 in OKC to Wesley Monroe & Frances Margaret Harris. Jim proudly served his country for 4 years in the US Navy. On July 5, 1952, Jim married the love of his life, Jo Ann Switzer. Jim was a skilled diesel mechanic. He owned and operated Diesel Auto Clinic. Having been a man of many talents, Jim excelled as a talented musician and skilled wood craftsman. Preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Judy Calhoun. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann of the home; sons: Jimmy D. Calhoun, Jr. and wife, Lesa of Yukon, OK and Chris Scott Calhoun and wife, Jennifer of Mounds, OK; daughters: Carolyn Sue Cummins and husband, William "Bill" of OKC, Shirley Jo O'Toole and husband, Barney of OKC, Julie Diane Binkley of Sarasota, FL, and Sherry Joyce Hedges of Edmond, OK; sisters: Juanita Jones & husband, Wesley of Moore, Jo Ann Young, Joyce Menifee & husband, Jim all of OKC; step-father, Carmine Monteforte of OKC; half-brother, Tim Monteforte; 4 grandsons; 11 granddaughters; 1 great granddaughter & 1 great grandson. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Hospice of Oklahoma County for the exceptional care they provided Jim and our family.
