Williard McCartney, Jr. and Rev. Allen Richardson officiating. Internment was at Dougherty Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. Mr. Atchley was born Tuesday, December 1, 1953 in Sulphur, to Oliver Leroy and Janettie Irene Haney Atchley. He died on Saturday, June 7, 2003 in Sulphur. He had lived in this area all of his life and attended school in Sulphur. He was a veteran of Vietnam where he served in the Army. He was affiliated with the Dougherty Baptist Church and was a paint contractor. He is survived by his mother, Irene Atchley, Sulphur; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Cy Doggett, Ardmore and Ellouise and Jerry Bumpass, Sulphur; four nieces; four nephews; 10 great nieces and seven great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Charles Leroy Atchley and a sister, Christine Shepard.
