"Jimmy" Moon Funeral service for Jimmy Moon, age 88, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2001, at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Rod Carroll will officiate. Jimmy Moon was born on July 4th, 1913, in Butler, Missouri, the son of Adam Posey Moon and Ada P. Postlethweight Moon. He died on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, in Chickasha. Jimmy moved to Faxon, Oklahoma, at an early age. He married Esther McCown on March 31, 1967, in Wichita Falls, Texas. After their marriage, they moved to the farm north of Chickasha. Jimmy farmed for many years. Esther and Jimmy later moved to Ninnekah where he began working for Carter-Hair Propane, now Oklahoma Natural Gas. After twenty-eight years of service, he retired and moved to Chickasha. He was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deloris Moon Bartlein; son, James A. "Alvie" Moon; four brothers; two sisters. Survivors include: wife: Esther Moon of the home; son: W.E. "Chub" Moon of Chickasha; daughter: Joyce Zacharias of Lawton; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
