Jacobs, who died at his home of Bright's disease, on Monday morning, April 7, 1913, at 1015, at the age of 45 years. William A. Jacobs was born on a farm near Franklin, North Carolina, in 1867. He resided there until 1906 when he moved to Oklahoma and located at Verden where he opened a harness shop and up to within a few days of his death was engaged at this trade. Last fall he built an addition to his present quarters and added new machinery, and was getting along well with his plans ande his prospects in business were bright when death called him to the Great Beyond. He was sick only a short time and his sudden death came as a shock to the entire community. A wife, four sons, Ernest, John, Lock and Theodore, and two daughters, Esther and Blanche, are left to mourn his loss. William A. Jacobs was a man of integrity, unasumming and quiet in manners, but steadfast and true to his convictions; a kind husband and father, and an excellent citizen, in whose untimely death this community has lost one of its best friends and co-workers. The last sad rites were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Baptist church of which denomination he had been a member for twenty years, by Rev. P. F. Harman of Verden, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Verden cemetery. The News joins the people of this community in extending sympathy to bereaved ones. Submitted by Sandi Carter
