COX SERVICES HELD ON JANUARY 1 Funeral services for Mr. J. H. Cox were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, at the First Baptist Church, Verden. Mr. J. D. Bryant of Lindsey, Okla., minister of the Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in the Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Music was furnished by the Church of Christ choir from Lindsey. Casket bearers were R. V. McDonald and Alvin Deason of Anadarko, Henry Horn, Russell Hamrick, Roy Hamrick and Herman Louis. James Harvey Cox was born on January 11, 1892 in Tom Green County, Texas and passed away at his home in Verden on December 30, 1957 at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 19 days. Mr. Cox came to Oklahoma with his family in 1902. He was married to Miss Ruth Fisher on August 30, 1914 at Fort Cobb. The family came to Verden in 1923, moved to Anadarko in 1948 and back to Verden August 14, 1957 when he retired. He joined the Church of Christ at Pocasset in 1943. His membership was later moved to the Verden Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Ruth, one daughter, Mrs. Beulah Unruh, Chickasha route; five sons, Olven Cox of Tulsa, J. V. Cox of Massena, New York and Vernon Cox and Kenneth Cox of Chickasha; 18 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Andes of Anadarko, Mrs. Lulu Stipes of Wichita Falls, Texas and Mrs. Charlotte Cocheran of Brentwood, Calif. and two brothers, J. N.
