Sharon Brown was born Nov. 3, 1949, and died on March 9, 2003. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 12 March 2003 SHARON ANN BROWN Funeral service for Sharon Ann Brown, age 53, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Cement, Oklahoma. Rev. Donnie Miller, Rev. Sonny Burd and Rev. Raymond McPherson will officiate. Viewing will be March 12th and 13th at the Cyril Funeral Home. Sharon Ann was born on November 3, 1949, in Monahans, Texas, to Farrel Lee Salyer and Cynthia Joanne Sherwood Salyer. She passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 9, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Surrounded by loved ones, she passed from this journey on the wings of angels into the waiting arms of her Heavenly Father. Sharon spent most of her childhood years in central Oklahoma with homes in Cement, Cyril, Anadarko, and Chickasha. After becoming a licensed beautician in Chickasha, she married Wayne Russell Brown on July 11, 1970. They raised two beautiful children, Lisa Kaylene (Brown) White and Russell Lee "Rusty" Brown. Sharon was truly a loving and giving soul whose strength, generosity, and guidance will be missed by all things that she touched. Through her short journey in this world, her large extended family was always a treasure that held a special spot in her heart, from this love for family she spent many hours researching genealogical archives. Although we will miss her, she will live in the hearts of family and friends forever. Preceding her to her heavenly home were her mother, as well as her sister, Floy Denine Salyer. Survivors include: husband of 32 years: Russell Brown of Oklahoma City; daughter: Lisa (Joe) White of Piedmont; son: Rusty Brown of Oklahoma City: two grandchildren: Alexandria and Chloe White of Piedmont; father: Farrel Lee Sayler (Connie) of Goodfield, Illinois; brother: Joseph Lee Salyer (Rhonda) of Bullhead City, Arizona; brother: Jerry Dean Salyer (Brenda) of Riverton, Utah; brother: Steven Lavon Salyer (Lori) of Ardmore; brother: Forrest Duane Salyer (Stacie) of Madill; brother: Clift Ericson Salyer of Coleman, Texas; brother: Ralph Lance Reeser (Amy) of Eurika, Illinois; sister: Florieta Denine Salyer of Oklahoma City; sister: Tami Lynn Salyer of Brownwood, Texas; sister: Lisa Rene Zobrist (David) of Goodfield, Illinois. Joining us remembering, loving, and missing Sharon are many cherished uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws, and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and caregivers of Hospice of Oklahoma County for the kid and compassionate care during Sharon's illness. Those in this organization are truly special. Also, a special thanks to the associates at Sharon's employer, Candlewood Suites for their support and kindness in our time of grief. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha. Service will be under the direction of the McRay's Cyril Funeral Home.
