Woods Barkley MeMe Services: Mon., June 23, 10 a.m. Naomi Charlotte Barkley was born on May 14, 1918, in Foster, Oklahoma, to Robert Earnest and Mary Elizabeth Stribling and passed away on June 18, 2003, at San Joaquin Hospital in Bakersfield. Naomi worked as a cook, waitress and restaurant owner in Arvin and DiGiorgio for over 15 years. She was also very proud of the years she spent as a medical technician at the State Hospital in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She has been an active member of the Church of Christ for over 70 years and was a member of the Hospital Guild in Tehachapi for 7 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Kenneth Brown and son, Larry Woods all of Bakersfield; sister, Joyce Massegee of Duncan, OK; five grandchildren, Robert Brown and wife, Lynnet of Tehachapi, Linda Perkins, Barbara Marshall and husband, Jeff, Shelli Woods and Scott Woods all of Bakersfield. Eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kelsey and Shelby Perkins, Amanda Henry, Andrew Brown, Kayleigh and Hannah Marshall. Chapel services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2003, at 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary with Joe Smith, Elder at the Highland Church of Christ officiating. Bill Hanes will lead congregation singing.
