Arrangements are by Williams Funeral Home, Anthony, Kan. She was born April 6, 1905, at Byron to Michael and Isabelle Roades Cluster and died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Wakita. She married Lyle Byfield in 1930. She was a homemaker and a member of Wakita Christian Church. Surviving are three nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, an infant daughter, one sister and one brother. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JERRY L. SWENN The funeral for Jerry L. Swenn, 59, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Wade Burleson will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. He was born March 5, 1942, in Follet, Texas, to Henry and Freida Kock Swenn and died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001. He was a graduate of Follet High School and attended West Texas College in Canyon, Texas. He served four years with the Air Force, stationed part of the time in Vietnam. He then graduated from Phillips University with a degree in business administration. He was the Blue Cross Blue Shield representative for northwest Oklahoma for 27 years. He retired in April 2001. He married Joanne Schatz Feb. 16, 1984 in Enid He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife Joanne; one daughter, Misty Gann of San Antonic Texas; two sons, Monty Swenn of Enid and Michael Swenn of Dallas, Texas; two step- children, Lori Ann Shannon of Guymon and Lance Shane Blakesley of Peru, Kan.; one sister, Evelyn Henry of Denton, Texas; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Heart Division with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROBERT EVAN LYNN ASHLAND, Kan. - The graveside service for Robert Evan Lynn, 72, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Highland Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Conaway will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. Arrangements are by Myatt Funeral Home. He was born March 12, 1929, at Olpe, Kan., to Tom and Grace Allen Lynn and died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at his home near Vian. He graduated from Cotton Wood Falls, Kan., High School. He was an equipment operator for the Oklahoma State Department of Transportation at Buffalo for 20 years. He also worked at Clark County Highway Department in , Ashland for several years. He married Anita Nelson March 3, 1950, in Beaver. Surviving are his wife Anita; three sons, Robert E. "Pete" of Bozman, Mont., Rodney E. of St. Paul, Minn., and William J. of Leabon, Penn.; two daughters, Grace A. Foutch of Laverne, and May Estraca of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Nadine Vogts of Kansas City, Kan., and Kathy Witouski of Hawaii; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FRANCES GAYE RUTH MUSTANG - The funeral for Frances Gaye Ruth, 52, was held Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church. Burial followed in Mustang Cemetery. Arrangements were by McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service. She was born Aug. 24, 1949, at Wynnewood to Harvey and Jesse Anderson Scott and died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at her home in El Reno. She grew up at Wynnewood and graduated Wynnewood High School in 1967. She was a longtime resident of Mustang before moving to El Reno in 1999. She worked in insurance accounting until recently and had formerly worked for Aero Records and Title. She was a member of Council Roads Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband Ray of the home; one son, Jason Lee Curtis of Nashville, Tenn.; three step-sons, Doug, David and Deryk Ruth; one brother, Keith Scott of Mustang; one sister, Marlene Bostic, also of Mustang; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one step-son. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ITHA L. SEAMANS MANKATO, Kan. - The funeral for Itha L. Seamans, 95, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Christian Church. The Rev. Thaddeus Hinkle will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Melby Mortuary. She was born Oct. 19, 1906, in Marshall County, Kan., to Charles H. and Alice Malsbury Graham and died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Jewell County Hospital. She was a homemaker, and had taught country school. She married Ronald Adelbert Seamans March 8, 1936, at the Graham farm near Mankato. He died July 16, 1970. Surviving are two sons, Charles Seamans of P(D)allas, Ore., and Corwin Seamans of Wamego, Kan.; three daughters, Elaine Hajek of Waukomis, Alice Ward of Smithville, Mo., and Donna Spatz of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a brother, Murrell Graham of Mankato; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald and one daughter. HAWS A funeral service for Ronald Dale Haws, age 70, will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2001, at the Anderson-Burris Chapel, with Rev. Stephen Hale officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. He was born to Melvin J. and Alice Mastin Haws on June 24, 1931, in Wichita, Kansas, and died Tuesday, December 18, 2001, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid after a short illness. He moved to Grant County, Oklahoma, at the age of four months, and graduated from Gore Consolidated #1 High School in 1949, near Wakita. He served in the Korean War with the 25th Division 64th Field Artillery Batallion. He manied Thelma Lynn in 1950, and they had five sons. He farmed in Medford and Wakita until 1975, at which time he moved to Enid. In November of 1976, he married Mary Lu Eberhart at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Enid, and worked various jobs, retiring from Johnston Grain Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working at the farm, and having coffee with his friends at Wakita. Gardening and farming were his favorite pastimes. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and VFW. He is survived by his wife Mary Lu of the home; five sons, Kenny and Tina Haws of Mannford, Mike and Kristy Haws of Carrier, Roger and Sha'rrell Haws of Raytown, Missouri, Phil and Kim Haws of Enid, and Doug Haws of Ringwood; two step-daughters, Cindy and Jay Bowen of Mt. Vernon, Washington, and Diana Hahl of Enid; one brother, Hugh and Annette Haws of Hernando, Mississippi; 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. (Paid Obit 12-21-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WILLIAM "BILL" RUSSELL STANDERFER Funeral services for William "Bill" Russell Standerfer, age 81 of Enid will be 10:00 a.m. today in Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Rev. Vincent Facione will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. He was born December 9, 1920 in Dupo, Illinois to William Glen and Iola "Ida" Standerfer and died Tuesday evening, December 18, 2001 in the Enid Senior Care. Bill moved at an early age to Eric, Oklahoma where he attended school until his senior year when he joined the United States Army Air Corp in 1938. He served with the 745th Bombardment Squadron for 5 years, 8 months with his rank Tech Sgt. at the time of his discharge. On August 27, 1942, he married Violet Marguerite Muilenburg. She preceded him in death on December 28, 1994 in Enid. To this marriage were born two children. On November 6, 1998 he married Mary Jane Meyer. To his family he was known as Russell, but to the people he served in the mid- fifties as a police officer with the city of Enid he was knmvn as Bill. After his years em the police force; Bill owned and operated the Skelly Oil Service Station. He later became representative for Continental Battery Company, known as "B&V Battery" which he operated until the time of his death. Bill was an avid square dancer with the "Shirts and Skirts" Square Dance Club. He was the president of the N.W. Square Dance District from 1982 to 1983. He served, supported and promoted square dancing. He was also a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church and the Board of Trustees with the church. Bill was also a member of the Masonic Lodge chapter 501 of Guthrie, member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He is survived his wife Mary Jane of the home, his daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Bob Smith of Littleton, CO.; one sister and brother-in-law, Rosalee and Lee Vineyard of Edmond; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Georgia Standerfer of Peoria, Arizona, a stepson and daughter-in-law, Don and Karen Whittenberg of Ft. Worth, Texas, and a step daughter and son-in-law, Dean and Bruce Rogers of Enid. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife and a daughter, Judy. (Paid Obit ]2-21-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GLENN MAURICE ZIRKLE Glenn Maurice Zirkle was born in Major County, Oklahoma, July 9, 1911 the son of Bert and Linda Mae Zirkle. He died in Waco, Texas on December 16, 2001. He was educated in the public schools of Lahoma and Enid. He graduated from Enid High School and attended Phillips University. He married Eva Major on August 6, 1933. Glenn co-managed a family retail grocery business in Enid for ten years and was then employed hy Safeway Stores, Inc. in Enid and Oklahoma City and was a district manager for Safeway in Dallas and Waco for 35 years. He retired in 1968. He served in the US Navy during WW II for three and a half years. He was a member of the Waco First United Methodist Church. He was pre-deceased by an infant daughter, Linda Kae Zirkle and sister, Vivian Schmitt. He is survived by his wife, Eva; brother, Forrest Zirkle of Boise, ID; two nephews, Robert Salmons, Bethany, OK; and Jay Zirkle. Eugene, OR; and two nieces. Joyce Zirkle Whyte, Boise, ID and Kae Major Bains, Portland, OR. Memorials may be made to First Methodist Church, Waco. TX, or a favorite charity. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
