Services pending with Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JANE HAYS The funeral for Jane Hays, 68, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Church of the Nazarene. Dr. Robert Shephard and the Rev. Grady Bohannan will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Meno. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. She was born Feb. 20, 1934, in Pretty Prairie, Kan., to Joe and Della Graber and died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1952, then attended Bethel College at Newton, Kan., for two years and Friends University in Wichita, Kan. She earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and a minor in secretarial training. In 1957, she married Jay Hays in Pretty Prairie. They moved to Oklahoma in 1960. She taught elementary school in Kansas and Oklahoma, and served as school secretary at Ringwood High School. She was an active member of the Firsl Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are her huband, Jay; two sons, Ritchie of Enid and Randy of Houston, Texas; twin sister, Elaine Brown of Arlington, Kas.; one brother, Claire Graber of Pretty Prairie; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church's library or Gideons International. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MANDA LEE REDDING BETHANY - The funeral for Manda Lee "Granny" Redding, 90, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Calvary Bible Fellowship. Burial will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Wetumka. Arrangements are by Mercer-Adams Funeral Home. She was born April 14, 1912, in Bee Branch, Ark., to James Henry and Mary Livicey Stripling and died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002. She was a housewife and a member of Wewoka Church of the Nazarene, She attended Calvary Bible Fellowship. Surviving are three daughter, Mae Cowherd and Mary Feland, both of Bethany, and Johnnie Quigley of Enid; one son, Mark of Eufaula; one brother, Marlion Stripling, and one sister, Gladys Cullum, both of Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons and one daughter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GEORGE RAY MOSHER SR. (Paid Obit 9-1-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NELDA JANE CLINESMITH Nelda Jane Clinesmith of Enid and Stillwater died in Stillwater on Friday, August 30, following a progressive ilness. She was 79 years old. Services will be held at Strode Chapel in Stillwater at 10: a.m. Tuesday, September 2 directed by Paul Anderson of Sunnybrook Christian Church. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Anderson and her husband Paul of Stillwater; a grandson, Luke Anderson and his wife Terri of Frisco, Texas; a grandson, Seth Anderson of Houston, Texas; a sister-in-law, Orvetta Clinesmith of Denver, Colorado; a son-in-law, Mike Castillo of Los Angeles, California; and her dear, longtime friend, Dutch Diesterweg of Enid. Nelda was born on July 23, 1923, to Wallace and Cleo Laughlin of Oklahoma City. Her mother died when she was a small child. Her stepmother was Norma Laughlin. Nelda attended Oklahoma City public schools before moving to Enid her senior year in high school. Nelda attended Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater and later married Richard Clinesmith in Enid, Oklahoma who carried on the long time family owned business of Clinesmith Furniture founded in Enid in the late 1930's. After her two daughters were grown, she went back to school at Phillips University and received her education degree. She taught social studies and geography for 15 years at Longfellow Junior High in Enid before her retirememt. She was an avid reader a life long lover of the arts. She made sure her dughters experienced her passion for music, painting, and sculpture. She loved to listen to music and especially Pavarotti and selections from The Three Tenors. She was a longtime sports fan and loved to attend professional baseball games. She moved to Stillwater in 1998. She was also an OSU Cowboys fan and attended as many events as her health would premit. Her diverse interests in sports figures included two favorites Andre Aggassi and Tiger Woods. She lived a simple and prudent life, but left her two daughters their greatest gifts in life, which was her introduction of Jesus Christ to them at very young ages. She was a long-time worker in the Garfield County Republican Paarty and a member of the First Methodist Church in Enid, Oklahoma. She attended Sunnybrook Christian Church and and weekend services at Golden Oaks after moving to Stillwater in 1998. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Richard; a sister, Wilma Barnes of Tulsa, and her youngest daughter Kathy Castillo of Los Angeles, California. Pallbearers are Luke Anderson, Seth Anderson, and members of the Sunday night prayer group. The family requested that contributions in lieu of flowers be made to Sunnybrook Christian School.
