Peck Kearns, Utah - The funeral for Maud Alice Schwind Peck, 81, will be 10 a.m. Saturday in McDougal Funeral Home. Burial will be in West Jordan City Cemetery. She was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Ringwood to William Philip and Susie Mae Hardin Schwind and died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002. On Jan. 26, 1946, she married Floyd Lyle Peck. They later divorced. Surviving are children, Alice Sue McCabe; Pearl Purdy and WIlliam Peck, all of Salt Lake City; two stepdaughters, Kaye Cook and Valoy Smith, both of Salt Lake City; two sisters, Alta Moon of Oklahoma and Fern Beisley of Iowa; one brother, William Schwind of Iowa; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one great-granddaughter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lee Roy Johnson A graveside service for Lee Roy "Leroy" Johnson, 79, will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Garden Chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Wade Burleson will officiate. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. He was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Lahoma to Simon and Edna Herber Johnson and died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, Enid. He graduated from school in Enid and joined the Navy, serving during World War II. After a 16 year career in the military, he owned and operated Johnson Sinclair of Enid, retiring in the early 1970's. Surviving are six children, Howard and Carrie Johnson, both of Enid, Janice Albrethe of St. Paul, Minn., ROdney Johnson, Nancie Hudson and Rodney Johnson, all of Enid; three sisters, Lila Mae Sanders of Enid, Agatha Bowen of Hillsdale, and Glenna Belle Davis of Siloam Springs, Ark.; three brothers, Kenneth of Garden City, Kan., Robert of Tulsa and Raymond of Anchorage, Alaska; 10 grand-children; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and one grandson. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Berna L. Marsh The funeral for Berna Leslie Rhoades Marsh, 67, will be 10 a.m. Friday in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Don Tines will officiate. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday in Hardtner Cmetery at Hardtner, Kan., She was born Oct. 1, 1934, in Council Grove, Kan., to Charlie L. and Bertha O. Brewer Rhoades, and died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at Tulsa Regional Medical Center. She attended schools in Alva, Hardtner and Waynoka. On April 12, 1951, she married Charles L. "Pete" Stewart at Fort Scott, Kan. She married Junior Ross "Bob" Marshal on Sept. 20, 1955, in Breckenridge, Texas. She worked as a sales clerk in several convenience stores, moving to Enid in 2000 from Greenville, Texas. Surviving are three daughters, Virginia "Ginger" Jacobs of Cedar Vale, Kans., Teresa Pope of Greenville, Texas, and Denise Harris of Jointerville, Texas; three sons, Michael Stewart of San Antonio, Robert Marsha of Fort Worth, Texas and J. R. "Jay" Marsh of Enid; five sisters, Beth Knox, Lucy Strickler, JoAnn Currey, all of Enid, Wilda Springer of Aline and Maxine Glover of Ennis, Texas; two brothers, George Rhoades of Garfield, Kan., and Floyd Wing of Hartford, Kan.; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jan. 16, 1985, one sister, two brothers, one stepbrother and three infant siblings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Garvin Ray Gum Alva - A gravesdie service for Garvin Ray Gum, infant son of Tonya Gay McCurdy and Douglas Ray Gum, will be 10 a.m. Friday in ALva Municipal Cemetery. Lance Lenards, pastor, will officiate. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel. He was born and died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at Oklahoma City University Hospital. Surviving are his parents; one brother, Devon Craig of the home; grandparents, Garold and Lois Gum of Alva, Deborah McCurdy of Midwest City, Vencil and Patricia McCurdy of Oklahoma City; two great-grandmothers, Wilhelmina Gum and Mary Williams both of Alva. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Research for Premature Babies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ John Webster Clark John Webster Clark, 83, son of George H. and Mildred Malkson Clark, was born on March 15,1 919, in Bangor, Maine, and passed away on August 27, 2002, at Enid Senior Care Center of Enid, Oklahoma. A celebration of John's life will be held at Central Christian Church, Enid, Oklahoma, on Friday, August 30, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John McLemore and Rev. Kevin Arensman officiating. Interment will follow at the Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Following the death of his father when he was seven, John lived with various relatives. He graduated from Higgins Preparatory School in Higgins, Maine. As a young man, John worked at a variet of jobs, including ship building, road and dam construction, and the oil fields. In 1945, John married June Henriques in Cottonwood, Arizona. To this union a son, John Malcom, and a daughter Cathy were born. He spent 18 yrs. as a department manager for Montgomery Wards in Phoenix, AZ. Following that he was sales manager for Levitz Furniture in Phoenix and Mesa, AZ. In his later years, John was an independent sales representative for home furnishing companies in California. John loved his work, especially meeting people in door-to-door sales, and his winning personality won many customers. He was always commended by his employers for his enthusiam, drive and attention to both customers and fellow sales people. Work was his hobby and he continued interest in his work until the end. On December 29, 1979, John married Willo Lovell McHarg in Whittier, California. In 1981 they moved to Willo's home state of Oklahoma, living in Oklahoma City. At this time, John became a sales representative for Eagle International Marketing, Inc., becoming regional director of the Tulsa area in 1989. In 1995 they retired and moved to Enid. John was a member of Central Christian Church, participating in the activities of the Sooner Sunday School class. John is survived by his wife, Willo, of the home in Enid, step-son Jeffrey McHarg and wife Elaine, and their children Tenley and Rory, of Acton, MA; step-son Kevin McHarg and wife Karen of Benton, Kentucky; step-daughter Shannon McHarg and her fiance Kevin Arensman of Enid. Also surviving are his son, John and wife Terri of Henderson, NV, grandsons Scott and David and their families of Phoenix, AZ. John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Malcom, daughter Cathy, and his his wife June, as well as those he loved who cared for him in childhood. The family acknowledges with appreciation the loving care and consideration he received from new friends and staff members at Hospice Circle of Love and Enid Senior Care. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice Circle of Love, Central Christian Church, or the Alzheimer's Association of Oklahoma. Mondick Funeral services for Lovina M. Mondick, age 97, Enid, will be Friday, August 30, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Mrs. Mondick was born on January 22, 1905 in Okeene, Oklahoma, the daughter of Henry and Maggie Lorenz Lipps, and died early Tuesday morning, August 27, 2002 in the Living Center. She lived in Okeene until the age of 18 when she moved to Waukomis and farmed for 15 years. She married Amel Mondick in Enid on May 19, 1924. They moved to Enid in 1946 where she has since lived. She was a former member of the Baptist Church of Okeene. She is survived by a son, James Roland and wife Jane Mondick of Houston, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Della Mondick of Enid seven grandchildren, twelve gret-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amel, a son, Marlan Ray Mondick, her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Memorial may be made in Mrs. Mondick's memory to Hospice Circle of Love, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the fund.
