Burial was in Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Guthrie. James was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Guthrie, to Lucille and Ralph Biggs. He died Monday, March 28, 2005, at Tahlequah City Hospital in Tahlequah. James was a former member of the Rotary Club in Guthrie and the Lions Club of Tahlequah. He was a former employee of OTASCO and Lintz Department Store in Guthrie, and he retired from Tahlequah Lumber Company due to health reasons. James was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; one son, Jim and wife Susan of Guthrie; one daughter, Elaine DeMoss and husband Rick of Guthrie; one stepson, Mark Ward of Checotah; and stepmother, Zella of Guthrie. He is also survived by one sister, Mary Williams and husband Jack or Perry; three brothers, Harold and wife Alverna of Guthrie, Lawrence and wife Sharron of Guthrie, and Jerry and wife Judy of Arlington, Texas; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
