All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Leona Cledith Dyer APACHE [LongDash] Funeral for Leona Cledith Dyer, 85, Apache, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Carnegie Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Chip Perkins, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Dyer died Thursday, April 29, 2004, at her home. Burial will be at Carnegie Cemetery under direction of Crews Funeral Home, Apache. She was born Aug. 11, 1918, to Phines B. and Lela May Walters on their farm between Apache and Carnegie. She married John Lorne Dyer on June 25, 1936, at Alden. He died Sept. 22, 1998. During World War II she lived in Sierra Madre, Calif., while her husband was in the U.S. Army. She worked at a produce market and a bakery. After the war, they returned to their farm between Apache and Carnegie. She was a member of the Alden Fire Department and was a dispatcher for them for many years. She was also a member of the Apache Antique Auto Club, the Amohalko Quilting Club, 4-H and React. She and her husband were the "Ma and Pa" of the 1958-59 Broxton Senior Class.
