All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution May 24, 2002 Hollis ‘Shorty’ Anderson CYRIL — Funeral for Hollis "Shorty" Anderson, 74, Cyril, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cyril First Baptist Church with the Revs. Travis Wollenberg and Charles Echols officiating. Mr. Anderson died Thursday, May 23, 2002, in Lawton. Burial will be at Celestial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Cyril Funeral Home. He was born Dec. 21, 1927, in Fletcher to William Anderson and Clara Scoggins Anderson. He moved to Cyril with his family at a young age and attended Cyril High School until he was in the 10th grade. He moved to Watts, graduated from Watts High School, then joined the Army and served during the Korean War. He then served four years in the Navy. When he finished his military service, he returned to Cyril and owned and operated Anderson Food Store for 31 years until he retired in 1988. He was a longtime member of Cyril United Methodist Church, but attended Cyril First Baptist Church for the past 15 years. He was a volunteer for the Cyril Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Barbara, Cyril; two daughters and sons-in-law: Marionette and Bill Jump, Pauls Valley; and Angela and Tim Vaughan, Dallas, Texas; a son, Jack Anderson, Cyril; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Ronnie Spessard, Sterling; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Greg and Dawna Schettler, Sterling; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Lee Anderson, New Boston, Texas; a stepbrother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Bonnie Anderson; seven grandchildren: Cody, Jay, Mary, Austin, Taylor, Wilson and Anderson; and a close-knit extended family. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Caddo County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.org/ok/caddo/caddo.html
