(24 Mar 1927, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. J. H. Sanders died at the family home at Texola Sunday, March 20th. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church by Rev. Geo. C. Hutto of Erick and burial at the Texola cemetery Monday afternoon. Mrs. Sanders with her husband was one of the pioneers of Texola. Besides her husband she leaves several children to mourn her decease. We extend condolence to the bereaved family. (24 Mar 1927, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. J. H. Sanders of Texola Died Sunday Mrs. J. H. Sanders, age 61, died at the family home at Texola Sunday noon following an illness of some months. The Sanders family are pioneer settlers of that section and are well known and the death of Mrs. Sanders is mourned by everyone she knew. Seven children survive and her husband. The children are: Mrs. Effie Salyer of Sayre; Mrs. E. C. Sims of Erick; Mrs. George Thomas of Erick; Miss Mamie Sanders of Shamrock, Texas and Miss Venita Sanders, Texola; Frank Sanders of Shamrock, Texas and Charles Sanders of El Reno. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church of Texola, Tuesday with Rev. Geo. C. Hutto of Erick officiating and assisted by Rev. Eatherage. The services were attended by a large number of old settlers and friends of the family. Banks of beautiful floral offerings were against the alter. Mrs. Sanders lived a devout christian life, being a member and a worker in the Baptist church. Interment was made in the Texola cemetery. ---Mr. and Mrs. John Salyer were called to Texola on Monday last by the death of Mrs. Salyer's mother, Mrs. J. H. Sanders of that place. ---Judge Speed and Court Clerk Lowry attended the funeral of Mrs. J. H.
