(14 Aug 1919, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Last Wednesday J. D. George passed to his reward in the great beyond after a long illness. He had lived on his farm east of town for the past twelve years, an honorable respected citizen, a man of many friends and so far as can learn, no enemies. His funeral was held at the tabernacle at the Erick Cemetery by Rev. Jesse Crumpton of the M. E. Church after which he was laid away to his long rest in the presence of a large assembly of friends. Most of his relatives were here to attend the last sad rites. Mr. George was a sufferer from cancer of the stomach. He rapidly grew worse the last year and for some months has been very feeble. CARD OF THANKS. We wish to thank the many kind friends who assisted us during the illness and death of our husband, father, and brother, J. D. George. Mrs. Jessie George. Mr. and Mrs. G. C. George. Mr. and Mrs. H. V. George. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. George. W. A.
