THOMAS, BURKE
(11 Dec 1902, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Burke, the sixteen-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Thomas, died Monday
morning at 2 o'clock, at the home of his parents in Elk City.  Deceased
was a student of the Elk City public school.  Funeral services were
conducted by Rev. Joiner of the Cumberland Presbyterian church, at the
residence Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock.  Interment at cemetery eight
miles northwest of town.
The city schools were dismissed and the scholars attended the funeral in a
body to pay the last tribute of respect to one of their comrades.
The bereaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community.
