SCALES, EMMA ELLEN
(31 Jan 1924, Thursday, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
DEATH OF MISS ELLEN SCALES
Miss Ellen Scales died last evening after a lingering illness.  She is a
sister of R. A. Scales northeast of Elk City, with whom she made her home.
Funeral services are being held this afternoon, after which interment will
be made in Fairlawn cemetery by the side of her mother who passed away
last year.

Miss Emma Scales died last Wednesday evening after a lingering illness of
several months; her nieces Mrs. Walter Millican and Mrs. Jim Reddin of
Gracemont and Mrs. Bailey Elliott of Okmulgee were called and came to be
with her during her last days.  She was buried on Thursday P.M. in West
Fairlawn beside her mother who preceded her to the better land, over a
year ago.  Funeral services were held at the South M. E. Church, conducted
by Rev. Adams.
