She was married to John T. Parker. Twenty years ago they moved to Honey Grove, Texas, where they lived until the death of Mr. Parker Aug. 31st, 1909. Shortly after her husbands death, Mrs. Parker came to Elk City that she might be with her two sons, J. B. and Lee who had been living here for some time. Early last Spring Mrs. Parkers health failed her and upon the advice of the family physician she with her son Carl went to Ft. Sumner, N. M., the home of her eldest son hoping that the high altitude would benefit her, as she seemed to have a well developed case of tubercolosis (sic). She seemed to get better, other troubles set in and she gradually grew weaker. She later decided to visit her old home and friends and it was while at a sisters home in Denton, Texas that the end came. She was taken suddenly ill with an abcess of the liver and died very sudden. Lee received a message of her illness and left at once but she died before he reached her bedside. Jim and Carl were with her at her death. The body was taken to Honey Grove for burial. Mrs. Parker had been a member of the M. E. Church South for many years. She leaves four sons, William of Ft. Sumner, N. M., J. B., Lee and Carl who are well known here.
