She was married to Matthias Gantz in August 1878. To this union 4 children were born, George, Fred and Will and one that died in infancy. She was a faithful mother of 3 other children of a previous wife and each of them showed their love and respect by visiting her during her illness, portraying her goodness more perfectly than words could express, and their wives did all that human hands could do to relieve her sufferings. We miss her for she lived to bless others even in her declining years and her life was an inspiration for others to love the Lord and serve Him better. She came to Kansas in 1883 and to Oklahoma in 1904. She has 26 grand children and 23 great grand children. She was formerly a member of the Lutheran Church until July 1924 she joined the Seventh Day Adventist church of Durham, Oklahoma, under Elder Elmer and remained a devoted, thankful and patient member until her death. The pall bearers were J. W. Thomas, Charles Thomas, Sam Thomas, J. W. Leitner, G. W. Saffer and J. D. Anderson. ---------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.org/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
