AKRIDGE, DOROTHY MERLE
(22 Mar 1928, Elk City newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Dorothy Merle Akridge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Akridge, died at
her home in Elk City March 17, 1928, at the age of 11 years, 6 months and
20 days.  Funeral services were held Sunday, March 18, at the First
Christian church.  Burial in East Fairlawn cemetery.  George R. Grubitz &
Son in charge.
Dorothy Merle Akridge was born at Post City, Texas, on August 17, 1916,
and departed from this life at Elk City, Oklahoma, March 17, 1928, at the
age of 11 years, 6 months and 19 days old.  She was the oldest  child and
only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Akridge.
In addition to the bereaved parents, Dorothy Merle leaves two brothers,
Sam and Jimmie Akridge.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Christian church on March
18th, 3 p.m. with Rev. Carl V. Covey in charge of the service.
Interment was made in East Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma, with
George Grubitz & Son in charge.
