Sam H. Hembree, 75, of Oklahoma City, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2002 due to complications of heart surgery. Sam was born September 24, 1926 in Stilwell, OK. He served our country proudly during WWII. and retired from Southwestern Bell after 37 years of service. Sam was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church for many years. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Carlotta Hembree and daughter, Karen. He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Kelly and her husband Don Willis; daughter Kim and her husband Steve Turechek; grandchildren Geoffrey and Andrew Willis, and Amy and Amanda Turechek; brothers Watie, Monroe, Ivan, of Stilwell, OK and brothers Dan and Alfred of Westville, OK; sisters Alyene of Sallisaw, OK, Marie of Prairie Grove, AR, brother Vernon of Hobbs, NM. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or National Parkinson's Disease Association. Visitation in Stilwell, OK at Hart Funeral Home Thursday, May 9, 2002 from 11:00am to 2:00p,. Services will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Oklahoma City on Friday May 10, 2002 at 10:00am with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
