STUDEBAKER Lucas -- Jane M. Studebaker,91, of Tipp City died at her home on Friday, June 5, 1998, with her husband of 65 years, Emmert(?) Studebaker, at her side. She was born March 25, 1907. Jane, co-founder of Process Equipment Company in 1947, served as its financial officer until her retirement. A native of the Lucas, Ohio, area, Jane Herring Studebaker grew up on the farm which is now Malabar Farm State Park. She attended Wittenburg University and was a member of its orchestra. Active in the West Charleston Church of the Brethern, she was the church organist for many years and was active in the Women's Fellowship. Jane and Emmert have been the organizers and gracious hosts at regional and national gatherings at the Studebaker Family Homestead, hosting Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil Blacksmiths, Studebaker Family National Association, and Studebaker Drivers Club, and songfests. Long known for her pastime, Jane created hand-woven rugs to share with friends from all over the world. She is survived by her two sisters, Erma Arehart of Lexington and Bobby Reed of Lucas. Children: Barbara Bailey and her husband Ken, Sonia Ewald and her husband Larry, both of Tipp City. 6 grandchildren: Heather Bailey-Hoffman of Tipp City, Sarah Chevalley of Winterhur,Switzerland, Grant Bailey of Cincinnati, Beth Van Haarenof New Carslie, Thad Ewald of Singapore, Naomi Jane Orme of Dayton. 12 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a contribution to the West Charleston Church of the Brethern Scholarship Fund which Emmert and Jane founded. The family invites friends to a memorial celebration on Saturday June 13th, 11 a.m., at the West Charleston Church of the Brethern, (7390 South Ohio Route 202, Tipp City, OH 45371) and followed by lunch at the Studebaker Homestead.
