Mr. Sinks was born April 11, 1932, in Boston, Mass., loving son of Anna Chase Batchelder Sinks and Allen Thurman Sinks. He was a 1954 graduate of Yale University and received his master's degree from Columbia University in 1960. He was a past member of Cold Spring Harbor Beach Club (NY) and elected to the Cold Spring Harbor School Board from 1976 until 1982, where he served as Secretary from 1976 until 1979. He was also a member of Beaver Dam Skating Club in Locust Valley. In 1994, he retired from Morgan Guaranty Trust Company in New York City. After living in Cold Spring Harebor for 25 years, he moved to Dataw Island in 1996. He was a member of the Dataw Island Club and St. Helena's Episcopal Church. He was a loving son, survived by his mother, Anna Sinks; beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" Sinks of Dataw Island; and dear father of two daughters, Elizabeth Batchelder Sinks and Dr. Anne Kuskowski, both of Silver Springs, MD; two sons, Christopher Sinks of Laurel, MD, and Richard Sinks of Greenwich, CT, and doting grandfather of Julia Allen Sinks of Laurel, MD.
