Guyett, a fifty year resident of Newburgh, entered into rest Monday, January 17, 2005 at Orange County Regional Medical Center, Middletown. She was 75. Daughter of the late Oscar and Emmy Isakson Johnson, she was born June 17, 1929 in Staten Island, NY. She married the late Theodore A. Guyett on September 2, 1950 in Highland Falls. Alice was a member of the Golden Age Club of the Town of Newburgh, and was an avid bowler. A family statement reads: "Our mom was a beautiful person, loved by all. She enjoyed life, friends and family. We loved her dearly; she was one in a million." He worked for the DEC in New Paltz then for Chelsea Modular Homes in Marlboro. Most recently, he worked for his best friend, Kieth, as a sub contractor for his business in Monticello up until 2002. The son of Robert L. Potter and Rosanna Geddes, he was born May 3, 1963 in New York City. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. #275 Elks Club in Poughkeepsie. He was an avid bowler in many leagues and was a member of many pool and dart leagues. Swanson, a longtime area resident, retired from New York State Police, Thruway, Newburgh, and later co-owner of the Pine Bush Antique Auction, died Friday, January 14, 2005 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center, after a long illness. He was 68. The son of Walter E. Swanson and Ruth Blankley, he was born February 10, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY. He married Zelma Hamilton on April 14, 1958 in Manassas, VA. She survives at home. Mr. Swanson currently owned and operated Swan and Castle Antiques, Highland. He was interested in antiques and liked to travel. His travels included England, Australia, New Zealand, Holland and Ireland, where he often bought antiques and shipped them back to sell in his shop. He was MPCO, U.S. Army, Korean War with the 7th Div. MPCO. Survivors include his wife, Zelma Swanson of Highland, NY; daughter, Cheryl L. Weeks, Dorothy Julia Dorothy Julia Weeks, of Tempe, Ariz., passed into God's hands on January 3, 2005 at the age of 97. Born in Gerebenze, Hungary December 19, 1907 to Trifu Zsivan and Luiza Sauer. Dorothy joins her beloved husband Irving and son James Freece and is now at rest with out Lord. She is survived by her daughter Marti Murray; her son Ralph Weeks; sister-in-law Georgie Zuvon and grandchildren, Jayne Freece, Leza Weeks, Julie, Fred, Jason and Amanda Whiting. Dorothy's life was one of compassion for her family and the world around her. Her interests always rested with the spiritual and natural aspects of life, with a focus on the welfare of others, and the importance of family and the teachings of those that have come before.
