Carpenter RANDOLPH - Lloyd Wesley Carpenter, 93, beloved husband of Elsie Carpenter of Randolph, died peacefully at his daughter’s home in Island Pond, Vt. on Jan. 19, 2001. He was born on June 8, 1907, in Attleboro, Mass., the son of Charles Wesley and Ruth (Blanchard) Carpenter. On May 1933, he married the former Elsie Hagar, who survives him. Mr. Carpenter graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. After college, he was a chemist for many companies, recently for the Brown Paper Company in Berlin. He held memberships with Moose River Masonic Lodge in Concord, Vt., where he was a Past Master, and he also was a longtime member of the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry. He enjoyed hunting, reading and listening to music. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elsie Carpenter of Randolph; two daughters, Sabra Graden of Island Pond, Vt. and the Rev. Carolyn Clarke of Center Strafford; eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Spring graveside services will be held in the Randolph Cemetery with his daughter officiating.
