George H. Fay, McIntosh County, North Dakota Captain George H. Fay was born in Hudson, New Hampshire February 24, 1842. He received his education in Illinois, and was admitted to the bar in 1868. He was a veteran of the Civil War, was made captain in the war with Spain, and was also a major. He held terms as States Attorney and County Judge of McIntosh County. He moved to Oakes in 1896. He represented the county at the Constitutional Convention and also served in the legislature. He died at Oakes in January 1910 and is buried in Oakes View Cemetery at Oakes. He left two children, Inez and Carl.
