                  Grantham Public Schools

                   Friday, May 18, 1934


8:30-OPEN EXHIBITS. Specimens of work done by the children of each
    teacher exhibited in the classrooms. Public invited to visit 
    these rooms and make thorough inspection.

9:30-SEVENTH GRADE CLASS DAY AND GRADUATION EXERCISES. These 
    exercises in the auditorium and will consist of: Roll Call,
    Salutory, Creed, History, Prophecy, Poem, Song, Will, Giftory,
    Presentation, Delivery of Diplomas, Acceptance, and Valedictory.

11:00-HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATING EXERCISES.
    Introduction of Speaker..........................Mr. J. W. Wilson

             Director Division of Instuctional Service
             State Department of Education, Raleigh

Delivery of Diplomas....................................The Principal

12:30-COMMUNITY PICNIC STYLE LUNCH SPREAD. It is hoped that all lunches
    will be spread on the table in the grove prepared for that purpose.
    Let's eat in the good old time way. Eats such as only the Grantham
    women can prepare are like the Old Time Religion, "They're plenty
    good enough for me."

1:30-FINALS IN RECITATION AND DECLAMATION CONTEST. Two boys and two
    girls in elementary school and two boys and two girls in high
    school will contest for medals.

      3. "Billy Brad and His Big Lie"...................Ruth Grantham
      4. "The One-Legged Goose"...............Anna Elizabeth Jeanette

      6. "Lafayette, We Have Come!"...................Jesse Hollowell
      7. "Angeline Takes a Joy Ride"...................Geneva Denning
      8. "A Scandalized Virgin".......................Doris Hollowell
      
    AWARDING OF PRIZES, MEDALS, CERTIFICATES, FINANCIAL REPORTS, ETC.
    Financial Reort of Lunch Room and School Treasurer. Awarding of
    medals to winners in recitation and declamation contest, 
    announcement of winner of Perfect Attendance, Certificates,
    Reading Circle Certificates, Honor Certificates and Best Room
    Exhibits. Immediately upon the close of this excercise students
    will meet their teachers in their respective classrooms and receive
    their certificates and report cards.

2:30-BASEBALL GAME - GRANTHAM SCHOOL VS. GRANTHAM COMMUNITY.
    At the conclusion of the baseball game the students may get their
    personal belongings from the rooms and go home. The exhibits will
    be open during the game so that parents who are not attracted to
    the game may make a more thorough inspection of the exhibits.
