Ginn, 1869 ~~~~~~~~~~ State of North Carolina Wayne County This Indenture made this the 1st day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine between HENRY DICKERSON and wife PENNY, JOSHUA MITCHELL and wife ZILPHA, LEMUEL HILL JR. and wife DEBBY, WINEY HILL, JAMES EDMUNDSON and HUBBARD EDMUNDSON of the first part, and JAMES H. GINN of the other part all of the County and State aforesaid. Witnesseth: that for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred and fifty three dollars & fifty cents to us in hand paid by the said JAMES H. GINN his heirs and assigns the receipt and payment whereof we hereby acknowledge ourselves fully satisfied content and paid before the signing and delivery of these presents have bargained, sold, delivered given up and conveyed unto the said GINN his heirs and asigns a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being situate in the County and State aforesaid, & Bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at a stake on the run of Beaver Dam Swamp and runs South 80 E 271 poles to a stake and pointers on the run of Taylor Branch, then up the various courses of the same to stake in said run, there N 55 W. with the line of heirs of CALVIN EDMUNDSON, Deceased 228 poles to a large pine on the run of said Beaver Dam Swamp then down said run as it meanders to the beginning Containing sixty eight (68) acres more or less. Also, one other tract known as the piney woods land adjoining the lands of HENRY TAYLOR and others Containing thirty three (33) acres more or less. And we the said parties of the first part, do by these presents bind ourselves our heirs, Exors., Admis., and asigns to Warrant and forever defend the right and title of the within described land and premises with all appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said JAMES H. GINN his heirs Exrs. admis. asigns forever free and clear from all charges or from the lawful claim of any and all persons whatsoever. Wesley sold his interest to CALVIN EDMUNDSON in 1839. In 1802, MILLY received 106 acres. This deed is for 101 acres, 67 years later. Beaver Dam is the constant phrase in all three descriptions.
