Collier of Wayne County, Greeting: We, reposing special trust and confidence in your patriotism, valor and military skill, do hereby commission you Colonel of the Twenty-seventh Regiment, of the Seventh Brigade, North- Carolina Militia, and we do hereby vest you with the authority appertaining to said office, to the end that you may promptly and diligently perform its duties, as prescribed by law; in the discharge of which all officers and soldiers under your command are required to yield you obedience. A freight train is to be -- to day and I shall be very glad if it brings the corn. Mr. Cameron told me the freight from Goldsboro will be three dollars per hd wt You did not say in your note whether you are still willing to take Confed. Bonds. I have not heard of the sale of them in Charlotte and will order them back if you -- to take them. You have not mentioned the price of the corn. I trust Mrs. Collier will be pleased with the flour I am very anxious but the Very Respectfully Militiary should lay violent hands A. Mitchell on the corn - the news from Morehead and New Bern is alarming ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Transportation Order No 60 Raleigh May 18th 1865 The U.S. Military Rail Road will furnish transportation from Raleigh to Goldsboro NC for Geo W Collier, Mrs Collier & neice on account of the United States.
