You are to lay out unto James Singleton 93 Acres of Land being due and 
Observing and a platte be Given on this 19th day of December 1715.

His Excell'y the Rt. Hon'ble John Ld. Carteret Pallatine & to all to whom be 
Know yee th't According to the Great Deed & Doe hereby give and Grant unto 
James Singleton of t's said County a Tract of Land Conteyning 93 Acres lyeing 
on ye west side of Scuperning River between the Lines of John Devenport and 
John Hopkins beginning at a Pine John Devonports Corner Tree on ye Putatna run 
thence No 60 d N'th 40 pole to a Pine thence So .....N'th 160 pole to a red 
oake thence E 't 78 pole to a red Oake Hopkins Corner Tree then along his line 
No 45 E'st 65 pole to a mayple thence No 67 d E't 65 pole to a Gum on putatana 
run thence ye meanders of ye runn to ye First station, being due & To have and 
to hold & Except & unto him ye said James Singleton his Heires and Assignes 
for ever in as large and ample manner & yielding & paying Yearly the Free rent 
one Shilling for every fifty granted Acres to be held & provided & Given this 
19th day of Octo'br 1716.
