Sampson County, NC - Barnabas S. King Court Record ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Minute Docket to November Term, 1840 No. 36 State Docket } State } vs } Bastardy } Barnabas King came into Barnabas S. King } court and acknowledges himself the father of a bastard child begotten on Zilphal Daughtry & it is ordered by the Court that said King pay said Zilpha Daughtry ten dollars for first months support of sd child & seven dollars anually afterwards commencing from September 1, 1840 & give bond with Bryant Daughtry and Alworth King surities. King met Zilpha Daughtry (b. 27 Nov 1819, d. 4 Aug 1856) and that their son Solomon R. Daughtry was born 17 Aug 1840. Barnabas S. King married Emily Rhodes ca. 1846/47, daughter of Ingram & Sarah Cox Rhodes, Emily, b. ca. 1830.
