Robeson County, NC - Joseph Thompson & Robt. S. French to Benjamin Lovett - 1860 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Joseph Thompson This indenture made and entered into this (blank) Robt. S. French day of (blank) in the year of our Lord One to Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty between Joseph Benjamin Lovett Thompson and Robt. S. French of the one part and Benjamin Lovett of the other part all of the County of Robeson and State of North Carolina. Witnessth that the said Thompson and French for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and seventy five dollars to them in hand paid before the signing sealing and delivery of the deed the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and do hereby grant bargain and sell unto the said Benjamin Lovett and to his heirs a certain tract of Land situate lying and being in the County of Robeson aforesaid on both Sides of the Ten Mile Swamp. Beginning at a pine said Lovett's Corner on the West side of the Ten Mile Swamp running thence South Sixty degrees West (60) thirty five (35) chains to a pine J.C. Freeman's Corner thence South Sixty Five (65) degrees West along that line sixty (60) chains, thence South twenty five (25) degrees four (4) chains to a pine Chloe Lamb's Corner, thence along her line South Eighty Five (85) degrees East thirty four (34) chains to a stake, thence South twenty two (22) degrees East along her other line Eleven (11) chains and sixty(60) links to a stake in said line. Thence North about fifty six (56) degrees East forty two (42) chains to a stake Eastward of Henry Carter's house thence North thirty (30) degrees West eighteen (18) chains and twenty six (26) links to the beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said Benjamin Lovett and his heirs forever. Containing 180 acres and the said Thompson and French will warrant and defend the title to the said premises against the claims of all persons.In witness of all which the said Joseph Thompson and Robt.
