CATHERINE PATE
    VS.
CALVIN PATE, et al  

PETITION FOR DOWER
In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the 
defendants, CALVIN PATE and GARLINGTON PATE reside beyond the limits of this 
State: It is therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for six 
successive weeks in the North Carolina "Argus," a newspaper published in the 
town of Fayetteville notifying said defendants to be and appear at our next 
Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for the County of Richmond at the 
Court House at Rockingham on the third Monday of October next. Then and there 
to plead, answer or demur to this petition filed: Otherwide judgment will be 
made pro confesso and the matter will be heard ex parte as to them. Witness 
L.H. WEBB, Clerk of the said Court at office in Rockingham on the third Monday 
in July A.D. 1855.
