Original in possession of Sue Guptill STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA---Pamlico County, THIS DEED, Made this 18th day of December, 1912, 19_ by G. W. Hamilton, and wife, Annie of Pamlico County and State of North Carolina of the first part to Clara B. Wilkerson of Pamlico County and State of North Carolina of the second part. WITNESSETH, That said G. W. Hamilton, and wife, Annie, in consideration of Two Thousand Dollars, to them paid by Clara B. Wilkerson, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said Clara B. Wilkerson her heirs a certain tract or parcel of land, in Pamlico County and State of North Car. adjoining the lands of Taylor B. Attmore and others, bonded as follows, viz.: Beginning at the southeast corner of Taylor B. Attmore¹s land, purchased from H.J. Kennedy, on the west of the Ferebee Road, and runs with the various courses of acanal, it being the south line of Taylor B.Attmore¹s land, north 66 20¹ west 1923-1/2 feet to the northeast corner of the A.B. Campen (formerly the S.E. Miller Land); thence with said line a ditch south 22 3¹ west 1065 1/2 feet to the center of a canal, it being a second canal; thence with center of said canal south 76 21¹ east 11958-1/2 feet to the west edge of the Ferebee road; thence with the west edge of said road north 21 50¹ east 774 feet, to the point of beginning, containing 40.53 acres, more or less. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid tract or parcel of land, and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said Clara B. Wilkerson, her heirs and assigns, to their only use and behoof forever. And the said G. W. Hamilton, and wife, Annie, do covenant with said Clara B. Wilkerson, her heirs and assigns, that they are seized of said premises in fee, and have right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free and clear from all incumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whomsoever. Hamilton, Annie Hamilton, his wife, personally appeared before me this day, and acknowledged the due execution of the annexed Deed of Conveyance, and the said Annie Hamilton being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth till voluntarily assent thereto.
