This indenture made this 21st day of August in the year eighteen hundred and Eighty- between John J. Brabble and Amanda S. Brabble his wife of the county of Pamlico and State of North Carolina of the first part and Bradford Gatlin of the County and state aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged has given granted bargained sold and conveyed and does hereby give grant bargain sell and convey to the said party of second part his heirs and assigns a certain piece or parcel of land lying in the county of Pamlico and State aforesaid on the head of Alligator Creek bounded as follows. Beginning at Bradford Gatlinšs Northeast corner and in John H. Nichols line and Runs with said line S26 W 110 pole to the back line then S 69 E 45 pole to James H. Gaskins line the with said line N6 E 108 pole to Bradford Gatlins Southwest corner then to the beginning containing 26 acres. To have and to hold the same with the appurtances thereunto belonging to Bradford Gatlin the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, And the party of the first part for the consideration aforesaid does hereby covenant and agree to warrant and defend the premises aforesaid to the said party of the second part, his Executors administrators and assigns against the claim and entry of all persons whatsoever. Brabble and Amanda Brabble his wife personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the within deed. And thereupon the said Amanda Brabble being by me personally examined apart from her said husband touching her free consent in this execution thereof Acknowledged that she executed the same freely and without or compulsion of her said husband and does still voluntarily assent thereto.
